The Countryside - Page 4 Empty Re: The Countryside

Post by Kyra Tue Apr 26, 2016 8:15 pm

Kyra sizes up the leaf like it's her enemy and she pounces, her white and gray coat bristling as she lets out a small growl, pawing at the leaf like it's a new species, her ice blue eyes glinting playfully. "Make sure she doesn't hurt herself, she can't tell what's around her until it's in her sight range." Archer advises warily.

Steel turns to Archer, Nodding and perking her ears to show she really took the words into consideration. SHe then turns back to Kyra and smiles, Wagging her tail and barking at the leaf. Steel then starts running in circles as she stares at the leaf, Bowing to it as she snaps at it in attempts to get it and shakes her butt in the air out of excitment. She barks at the leaf, Standing on her hind legs and swinging her body around, So she lands facing the other way. She then runs to the other side of Kyra, Bowing and barking again. She soon turns her attention to a chimpmunk in the yard, Bending down. She puts her butt in the air and tail up, Shaking her butt before taking off at full speed for it. The chimpmunk turns to its left, So Steel is forced to skid to the left if she wants to catch it. She does so, Almost losing her grip, But gaining it again before lowering her head and opening her jaws to be ready to catch it, if she catches up.

The Countryside - Page 4 Empty Re: The Countryside

Post by Kyra Wed Apr 27, 2016 3:59 pm

Kyra turns and races after the rodent, her petite paws landing almost silently on the ground as she puts most of her weight on her haunches, as for some reason she finds it easier to run with her weight on her backside. She makes a sharp turn to cut off the chipmunk and stands in front of it, her head lowering and pale eyes narrowing.

Steel watches in pure joy as the chimpmunk freezes and runs back to her, Not knowing where to go. She snaps it in her jaws and hears the crackles of the bones before heading up to Kyra, Dropping it in front of her as a gift. Though they weren't very filling, This is what Steel lived off most of her life. She couldn't hunt larger animals very well, Though she could easily do it, Humans would notice her far before she could do it. She cleans herself, Easily reaching the long fur on her neck. Her fur was oddly clean and brushed for a dog without a home, Though it was longer than should be, Showing she didn't have well taken care of fur. It just didn't tangle because it was too silky too, and she often went swimming in the creek which is why its so clean. After cleaning, She shakes her pelt to make it fluff up again, Settling back down to look normal.

A bunch of dogs- Estimated about 10 to 13, walk up to Steel. They approached from her left, which is the side that is partly blind. A few humans were seen at the road, But only about 2; a strong tall male, and about equally strong, but much shorter female. They start to sneak, Steel not noticing until one bites her back, Not quite leaving any blood, But enough to make Steel yelp and jump back in fear.  She bows her head to say bye to Kyra, before jogging across the road. The dogs bark at her and snarl, But Steel seems to ignore it, Walking ahead of them. After a while she cracks, Barking as loud and deep as she possibly can and turning with her tail raised. It seemed to make them stop, So she then continued on, Head low to the ground as she trotted down the road. She was suppose to be in New York, But she didn't want to be, So the dogs from her gang got mad and ran to the countryside to find her.

After about 5 minutes of walking, Two of the Pit bull hound mixes grab her neck, One on each side. One pushes while the other pulls, Causing her to fall on the hard tar, Bite marks soon making blood show all the way through her long fur. Steel yelps, Getting up as fast as possible and running at full speed down the shoulder of the road as the two follow, No less than 7 or 8 inches behind. She soon stops, turning as she barks as loud as she can, Growling at them. They don't seem to stop, Running past her before skidding to a stop. Steel quickly runs across the road, The two following; now quite a ways away. They manage to catch up, Grabbing her neck which causes her to skid to a stop and fall. They hold on while steel is on the ground, Giving her the chance to bite their neck and pry them off, so she takes it. The other dog falls, Shoulder snapping out from under them causing them to get a pretty nasty scratch on their shoulder blade. The Rough Collie mix snarls, Blue eyes a skin piercing sight as they showed no remorse. She runs off, Quickly jumping over the ditch that she was once scared of. Her figure soon becomes just a black outline from the grass parting in the field, Looking back to show her piercing eyes once more, before running off in a instant, Vanishing. .

Kyra strains her ears to listen, a confused expression gracing her features as Archer almost immediately sprints over, hurriedly at his sisters side and lightly nudging her towards the house, before bounding back with his deaf sister trailing behind hesitantly.

Steel turns after she knows that the grass would hide her, Peering her head slightly through the grass as her tiny blue eyes could be seen. She slowly creeps closer, Figure coming into view very slowly as she watches. A few of the blood hounds start sniffing around for her, So she makes rustling noises in the grass, then leaps over the grass to find a better hiding spot. She makes ticking noises with her tongue, trying to get the two she had met earlier to back away. The Rough Collie mix knew this gang, And they learned from her. They were all powerful dogs, Pit bulls and mastiffs, beagles and plotthounds. Though there were few to no other irish wolfhounds, Making Steel the largest dog. She had some pitbull in her, But it really only made her back legs strong, Her chest larger, and jaw very strong. She knew if half of the gang went on a bear hunt, They would not only find, But also easily kill the bear, Let alone a entire group from the gang and just dogs. She runs down a bit farther, Jumping back over to the road and running to the other side as she lowers her head and peers over to the others, Stopping and sitting.

The Countryside - Page 4 Empty Re: The Countryside

Post by Vigilance Fri May 06, 2016 5:49 am

The troubled canid started marching downhill, his pace quick and aligned just like any disciplined canid in his everyday life. Vigilance's paws we muddy and greatly tired, his lungs were burning like the sun; he was longing for a meal or any structure of food. The male's cloak had become coarse and tangled he was restless, tired and simply exhausted to the point of corruption but nevertheless he was determined to reach his destination. He kept his pace steady and rapid despite his tired brown eyes which were eagerly scanning the terrain for any sign of sustenance

Soon Steel starts to growl, Seeing the dogs looking at each other before one starts to snarl. The Collie runs up to the dog, Slamming herself into their side so they fall to their back. Steel hovers over the dog, Barking rapidly in their face. The dog was the lowest rank, So trying to get a higher rank they bite her neck. Steel simply swats at their face, Growling as she bites their muzzle and then getting off. For once, Her fur was bristled on her back, even some on her chest, and her tail was no longer straight down or curled to her back, but straight up in the air with the tip curling to point closer to her head. She slowly trots up to Archer and Kyra, All of her fur and her tail dropping back down as she does the same with her head. She was shaking, Not knowing quite why she had done that, but knowing that it was instinct, because once she started, She couldn't stop until she felt like all three of them were safe. This dog was a Great Dane, A bit taller and for sure lankier than Steel, but it was obvious now that Steel was stronger.
